Bare attention

March 28, 2021 Bare attention has many facets, the first being “impartiality”Epstein. This is not just useful for “aft”, it’s the first “quality”Epstein of bare attention, “take whatever is given”Epstein, “not to screen out the unpleasant and not hold onto the pleasant”Epstein. This is the “neutral resting place that comes from bare attention”Epstein. “Impartial self observation” or not to push and not pull “unpleasant and pleasant”Epstein feelings. This can be found in meditation, by observing feelings. The longer I observe the feelings, the “ebb and flow”Epstein of “pleasant and unpleasant”Epstein feelings the more “impersonal”Epstein they appear. “Hang back just a bit”Epstein, or the posture of the back is useful in meditation, and that means “impartial self observation”.
